Funeral Live Streaming in North Ryde: Two Crematoriums

North Ryde has two crematoriums run by different companies, a few minutes apart. How to tell them apart, and how streaming works in each.

Yes, a funeral in North Ryde can be live streamed. Before the funeral notice goes out, check which crematorium it is. North Ryde has two, run by different companies, and families sometimes write "North Ryde crematorium" when they mean one or the other. Guests then drive to the wrong gate.

The two North Ryde crematoriums

  • Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium is run by Metropolitan Memorial Parks. It has five spaces: the Magnolia Chapel (about 200 seats), the Palm Chapel, the Camellia Chapel, the Lotus Pavilion (about 100) and the Rose Chapel (about 35). The Palm Chapel has a full pipe organ.
  • Northern Suburbs Memorial Gardens and Crematorium is at 199 Delhi Road and is run by InvoCare. It opened in 1933 as the second crematorium in New South Wales. The North Chapel seats about 160, the East Chapel 90, the South Chapel 80 and the West Chapel 44. The East Chapel has been blessed for Catholic services.

We have filmed and streamed services at both. The funeral notice should name the venue in full and the chapel, for example "the North Chapel, Northern Suburbs Memorial Gardens, Delhi Road".

Choosing a chapel when people will watch online

Chapel size matters more than most families expect. If you are expecting a big crowd, the Magnolia Chapel at Macquarie Park or the North Chapel at Delhi Road will hold most people inside. In the smaller rooms, such as the Rose Chapel (about 35) or the West Chapel (44), some guests may end up outside.

The live stream is for people who cannot come at all: relatives interstate or overseas, people too unwell to travel, and anyone stuck at work. A smaller chapel still works well for a service where many people will watch from home.

Both venues have their own webcasting

Metropolitan Memorial Parks offers webcasting in every chapel at Macquarie Park, and InvoCare offers it in all four chapels at Delhi Road. Plenty of families use it. Others ask their funeral director to book Stream Catcher as well, because they want several camera angles and a full recording of their own. We have written a separate guide on deciding between the venue's webcast and a separate stream.

When we film, we bring at least three cameras, wireless microphones for the lectern and celebrant, and our own combined 4G and 5G connections. We arrive at least ninety minutes early to set up and test, and we work alongside the chapel staff on the day.

What to send relatives with the link

The viewing link is private and opens in an ordinary web browser, so relatives only need the link. Send it with:

  • The name of the person, and the date and time of the service in the viewer's own time zone.
  • The full venue name and the chapel, so anyone attending knows which crematorium to go to.
  • A note that the same link plays the recording afterwards.

The recording goes up on the same link within a few hours and stays available for up to twelve months. The family also receives an HD copy to keep. Our page on how to watch a funeral live stream explains the viewing side for relatives.

Booking

Tell your funeral director you would like Stream Catcher, or call 0403 355 445 at any hour with the date, the venue and the chapel. More about how we work is on our funeral live streaming page.
