Two restored Art Deco chapels make up the service side of Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park and Crematorium in Matraville. Metropolitan Memorial Parks runs the site, and we have streamed services from both the South Chapel and the smaller West Chapel.
About Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park and Crematorium
The two chapels at Matraville both have Art Deco detailing and were restored recently. The South Chapel seats about 120 and the West Chapel about 60, and both have eco-friendly air-conditioning. Outside there is a one-level porte-cochere, raised footpaths, parking on site, wheelchair-accessible quiet rooms and undercover screens for guests who cannot fit inside.
At about 60 seats, the West Chapel at Matraville fills up quickly, and a well-attended service there can spill out to the undercover screens. The people watching our stream are further away again, in another city or another country. We bring at least three cameras and our own mobile internet, and the family gets a private link and a recording.
