Funeral live streaming at St Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church

At 72-76 Gardeners Road, Kingsford, St Spyridon has served Greek Orthodox families in the eastern suburbs since it was finished in 1974. We stream funerals from the church for relatives in Sydney and overseas.

About St Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church

Work on the church started in 1961 and was finished in 1974. M Z Avramidis designed it as a Byzantine basilica with twin towers. St Spyridon is dedicated as a memorial to Australian-Greek soldiers, and that memorial was unveiled in 1975. St Spyridon College shares the same precinct.

Because the parish runs a school, a funeral at St Spyridon can bring in past students and teachers as well as family. Relatives in Greece or Cyprus often cannot get to Kingsford in time. We stream to a private link, and the family keeps a recording of the full service.

Questions families ask

Can a funeral at St Spyridon, Kingsford be live streamed?

Yes. The priest at St Spyridon has the say on filming, and your funeral director checks with him before the day. We then film the service in full and send the family a private link. A recording follows, which suits relatives in Greece who are asleep during a Sydney morning service.

Does the St Spyridon College timetable affect funerals?

The college is on the same precinct as the church, so a weekday funeral may overlap with school drop-off or pick-up on Gardeners Road. Your funeral director will work out the timing with the parish. We allow for the traffic and arrive early.
