Funeral live streaming at St Patrick's Cathedral, Parramatta
Fire gutted Parramatta's old Catholic cathedral in 1996, and the new St Patrick's was finished in 2003 beside the Blessed Sacrament Chapel that survived. We have streamed funerals from the cathedral for families all over western Sydney.
About St Patrick's Cathedral, Parramatta
The parish goes back to 1837. After the 1996 fire, the diocese built a new cathedral next to the surviving Blessed Sacrament Chapel and opened it in 2003. St Patrick's is the cathedral of the Diocese of Parramatta and can seat around 800 people for a funeral or memorial service.
Funerals at St Patrick's are booked through the Parish Presbytery. Funeral Masses are not held on certain days in Holy Week, Advent and Lent, so dates can be tighter at those times. With a crowd of several hundred, the people most likely to miss out are the sick and those overseas. We give them a private link.

Yes. Your funeral director books the funeral with the Parish Presbytery and asks them at the same time whether we can film. On the day we arrive early, set up at least three cameras and run the stream on our own mobile internet. The family gets the link to share and a recording afterwards.
St Patrick's already streams Mass. Do we still need to book a stream?
The cathedral streams Solemn Mass on its own YouTube channel and the diocese's channel, and some high-profile funerals have gone out that way. A family funeral is its own booking. If you want a private link rather than a public channel, plus a recording to keep, ask your funeral director to book us.
