Funeral live streaming at Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Cathedral
Australia's Russian Orthodox community built its first cathedral on Vernon Street, Strathfield, in the early 1950s. Saints Peter and Paul still holds funerals in Church Slavonic and Russian, and we film them for families across Sydney.
About Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Cathedral
The community bought the land in 1949, and the cathedral was consecrated in December 1953. Since 1954 it has been the seat of the ROCOR Diocese of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand. Saints Peter and Paul stands at 3-5 Vernon Street, Strathfield, with a bell tower, a copper spire and steel cupolas.
Services at Saints Peter and Paul are in Church Slavonic and Russian, and a Russian Orthodox funeral is long, with much of it sung. We film the whole service without cutting anything, so relatives watching on the private link see it as it happens. The family keeps the recording.
