About Walker Funeral Group
The Walker family started the group in 1996 when it bought Bernard Laverty Funerals at Macksville. It moved into Sydney in 2002 with Albert & Meyer at Thornleigh. The head office is at Macquarie Park, and the Sydney brands include Gregory & Carr, Joseph Medcalf, Hills Family Funerals, Windsor Funeral Home and Max Perram's.
Walker keeps the older businesses it buys under their own names, some going back to the 1880s. In Sydney that means families deal with a local name at Castle Hill, Liverpool, Windsor or Matraville. We stream services for all of them. Outside Sydney the group has brands in Newcastle and on the Mid North Coast.
