Convict architect Francis Greenway designed St James' on King Street, and funerals have been held there since it was consecrated in 1824. We film and stream funerals at St James' for family who cannot come into the city.
About St James' Church, King Street
St James' stands at 173 King Street, facing Hyde Park, and is one of the oldest churches in Sydney. Greenway built it in the Old Colonial Georgian style. The church has a historic churchyard, and its columbarium takes ashes, so some families hold the funeral and the interment at the same church.
St James' is known for its choir and church music, and many families here want the music heard properly. We set up at least three cameras and run the stream on our own mobile internet. Relatives who cannot get to King Street watch on a private link, and the family keeps the recording.

Can ashes be interred at St James' Church?
St James' has a columbarium in its historic churchyard where ashes can be interred. The parish office can explain how that works and what is available. If the family wants the interment filmed as well as the funeral, let your funeral director know when booking us.
